By accessing and using the umber-storm website or renting our equipment, you agree to be bound by these terms of use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use our services.

Service Description

umber-storm provides portable generator rental services for outdoor events, street fairs, and temporary power requirements. All rental agreements are subject to equipment availability and approval of rental terms.

Rental Process

Rental requests submitted through our website are inquiries, not confirmed bookings. We will review your request and confirm availability within 24 hours. A rental agreement becomes binding only when we send written confirmation and receive your deposit payment.

Pricing and Payment

All prices listed on our website are in British pounds (GBP) and exclude delivery charges unless explicitly stated. Pricing is subject to change without notice until a rental agreement is confirmed in writing.

Payment terms:

• 50% deposit required to confirm booking
• Remaining balance due before delivery or at time of pickup
• Additional charges for fuel consumption or damage will be invoiced separately
• Late payment may result in service suspension and additional fees

Equipment Use and Responsibilities

When you rent equipment from umber-storm, you agree to:

• Use the equipment only for its intended purpose
• Operate equipment in accordance with provided instructions
• Protect equipment from theft, vandalism, and weather damage beyond normal outdoor exposure
• Not modify, repair, or tamper with equipment without authorization
• Ensure adequate ventilation when operating generators
• Keep equipment secure and supervised throughout the rental period

Delivery and Collection

Delivery and collection times are estimates. While we make every effort to meet scheduled times, we are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, or other circumstances beyond our control.

You must ensure the delivery location is accessible for our vehicles. Additional charges may apply if access restrictions require special equipment or additional time.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation terms:

• More than 14 days before rental date: Full refund minus 10% administrative fee
• 7-14 days before rental date: 50% refund
• Less than 7 days before rental date: No refund
• Weather-related cancellations are subject to the same policy unless extreme weather makes delivery impossible

Liability and Damage

You are responsible for any damage to rental equipment during your possession, excluding normal wear and tear. Damage costs will be assessed based on repair or replacement expenses.

umber-storm is not liable for:

• Power interruptions caused by equipment failure, fuel depletion, or operator error
• Consequential damages resulting from equipment malfunction
• Damage to your property or third-party property caused by improper equipment use
• Losses resulting from event cancellation or power-related disruptions

We recommend obtaining event insurance that covers equipment rental and power-related risks.

Safety and Compliance

You are responsible for ensuring generator operation complies with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations. This includes:

• Maintaining safe distances from public access areas
• Providing adequate fire safety measures
• Managing fuel storage and handling according to regulations
• Obtaining necessary permits for generator operation

Technical Support

Technical support is available during business hours and by emergency contact for active rentals. We aim to respond to support requests within 2 hours during your rental period.

Support does not cover issues resulting from improper use, unauthorized modifications, or failure to follow operating instructions.

Website Use

You may use our website for legitimate rental inquiries and information gathering. Prohibited activities include:

• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Distributing malware or harmful code
• Scraping content or data without permission
• Misrepresenting your identity or affiliation
• Submitting false rental requests

Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, logos, and design elements, is the property of umber-storm or used with permission. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written authorization.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to fulfill rental obligations due to circumstances beyond our control, including natural disasters, strikes, government actions, or equipment failures caused by manufacturer defects.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes become effective when posted on our website. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
